Wondering how Food Agent Australia can help you and your business? In this latest blog we share a case study where we helped a client find a solution to a very expensive directive from council.
Whether you own a hospitality business with a fixed premise, run a home-based food business or are a catering pro – the one thing we want you to know is that Food Agent Australia is an advocate for YOU.
When you engage Food Agent Australia you can be assured that we apply outside the box thinking (with a hearty splash of common-sense) to find a solution that’s going to be a win-win for our client AND the local food authorities.
This case study is the prime example of this approach – and how it saved this client a staggering $150,000.
Client Background
The client owned and operated a well-known brewery in Brisbane City. The brew-pub is housed in a 100-year-old refurbished shop.
After a routine council inspection, it was found that the piping for the sewer was deemed to be inadequate and the client directed to put a manhole in the middle of Stanley Street (a major inner-city street) at their cost – an eyewatering (in excess of) $150,000.
Unsatisfied that this was their only option, the client reached out to Food Agent Australia.
How did we help the client save $150,000?
The bar owner approached us for an independent review and advice.
Led by Paul Perrior, Food Agent’s team of consultants assessed the situation and organised an independent structural assessment of the pipework. This included sending a small but high-powered robot and camera into the pipes to ensure it was still structurally sound, and that there were no leaks or cracks in the pipes.
After a lengthy process and backed by evidence that the existing infrastructure was still in good condition and would last another 20 years, Food Agent Australia successfully put a case to Council that the expensive manhole was in fact unnecessary.
And the good news – the client didn’t have to fork out (in excess of) $150,000 for the manhole.
